Pirate Costumes There is now an abundance in variety of sexy costumes in the style of the Pirate theme. The ranges from the different sexy costume manufacturers have grown exponentially in the last few years. Some themes come and go are in vogue, then not so. Like a style of popular music, for example. The Pirate Costume theme has been enduring but has exploded, and it’s not difficult to understand why. Pirates are figures of historical fact and romance. Seafarers sailing the high seas, outlaws plundering by stealing and fighting. And sometimes searching for lost or forgotten abandoned treasures. The pirate theme is a playground for novelists and film makers alike. While there was always some ongoing popularity in pirate costumes the film series, “Pirates of the Caribbean” is in part responsible for the relatively recent increase in popularity. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards even made an appearance at the request of actor Johnny Depp. It has been suggested he didn’t need much make up or costume attention to slot into the role that was asked of him.
