British Politics, What a Mess!
Well Labour lost the by-election at Henley by a humiliating margin to the Conservatives on Thursday 26th June 2008 and didn't even manage second place. It was expected. The UK is troubled by strikes, inflation and particularly high fuel prices. The housing market is struggling. There are some worldwide economy problems and not all can be placed at Gordon's No 10 doorstep. A presiding government is an easy target when things don't go too smoothly, but Gordon Brown, "New" Labour(if we can still call it that..doubt it, the media have certainly dropped the word since Tony Blair departed to make some serious money with his blame worthy Barrister wife), and the Conservatives should wise up for the long term about a few things. The British People have lost virtually all trust in virtually all politicians! They do not listen but pretend to do so. They promise to do this that and the other to get support and once elected seriously go back on their word. They tax us as much as they think they can get away with and some more (Gordon Brown you are very partly to blame for the outrageously expensive fuel). They tell us we can only have 2% pay rises to aid the economy and inflation, then demand inflated pay rises themselves! They except corrupt donations and claim fraudulent expenses that the rest of us in the real world would be doing time for if we did the same to our employers! They lie to us to gain support for illegitimate wars and I don't see many of their children going to battle (at least the royal family to some degree go where the heat is.) You fill the country with so much bureaucracy and red tape that no progress is made anywhere for meddling interfering politically correct idiots in jobs you created so that they would not dare to not vote for you! Let's have some proper unhindered work being done. And accept that accidents do and will always happen and encourage people to take some responsibility for themselves instead of always looking to place the blame elsewhere. Europe. Stop lying! You have signed away so much power and you Gordon, couldn't even turn up at the ceremony. You then introduce these Europe policies as your own as if to take the credit where none is due anyway. Our Post Offices are closing and are rubbish is not being taken away very often because of Europe, to name but two. Have you not realised you are/have been doing yourselves out of a job, you idiots. Now, as one perhaps honourable MP (glad there is one left) suggested, perhaps you should take a paycut in accordance with the powers you have, and continue, to give away to the Europe. Oh there is more, there is so much more, but I'll save it for now. You, Gordon Brown and Tony (I am a good presenter and can lie for England) Blair are responsible for a lot of this mess. I don't know if you are stupid, wanted it this way, or were forced into it because some more powerful "consortium" has you by the "short and curlies" but I hold you responsible. Twenty or thirty years ago some Politicians appeared, at least, to have some integrity. You could say they were wrong, disagree strongly but respect the individual because they had principles (or it seemed so anyway). Now, they seem to be in it for themselves and milking it for what it's worth. You could buy almost any MP now with a perk or promise of later promotion. (Or so it seems) As the media starts to switch and favour the new kid in town over Gordon (charisma bypass) Brown, don't expect much to improve in the medium term if the Conservatives get in next time. Tony Blair was "the new Kid in Town" and this guy is not that much different at all. When will they wise up and realise the public won't take too much more of it?

Contributor's Note
My opinions only. I do not claim to speak for anyone else. I wish Politicians would have an opinion of their own, believe it, stick by it and let us respect them for it, even if we disagree. Integrity. And stop treating it as a gravy train, this is serious stuff, or should be!
