Blogging tips for beginners, by a beginner Blogger Part One
I launched my second professional website a few months ago and was keen to do it properly, as much as possible myself.
This was, or is, a lingerie website but that's not the point, the advice applies to any new or existing website. I didn't get blogging at all. I saw a blog as an online diary and thought "Why would anyone want to read my online diary". But I learned better. A blog is a very nice addition to your website for many reasons. But I have found that through setting it up correctly with technical help I can put up a new post and get it listed in google within about 10 minutes. SPEED! It's amazing quite frankly. I can go top 10 at google UK for my chosen keyword term with a blog entry almost instantly rather than wait a week or two for google to find a new page. (That does require a little preparation). OK, they have to click through from the blog post to the website, but it's also a link to the page itself, which google likes. Maybe more info later, if I don't get told to shut up by the "helpers". So if you have a website and no blog, get one started, but seek advice on how to set it up right! |
